How far along are you: 37 weeks, 6 days
Baby is: somewhere around 50cm long and roughly 6 pounds. AND hopefully has a small head. haha. But seriously.
Weight gain: I've kind of lost track of that, but somewhere between 20 and 25 pounds I think.
Movement: you betcha. This baby has been head down since about 30 weeks and I can definitely feel a little bum and feet in my ribs and some arms in my hips on a regular basis. Sometimes its just big stretches (I'm sure its getting crowded in there by now...) and sometimes its a full on dance party!
Maternity clothes: I pretty much live in the same pair of shorts and a few shirts. Plus a few maternity dresses. I used to care more about dressing up but at this point I'm all about comfort. The less seams digging into my sides the better.
Stretch marks: none. I have lathered up with my Aveeno lotion religiously since coming back to Southern Alberta and it seems to be working!
Sleep: continues to be a challenge. I get SUPER itchy at night, so between that and having to get up to the bathroom like 10 times it can be a bit touch and go.
Favorite moment of the week: Getting the last minute things organized! I went and bought a few bows, just in case we have a girl, and my diaper bag came in the mail today. Now I just need to wash a few clothes, pick up our stroller from the border, and pack the bags!
Feeling: pretty good still! I get some wicked sciatica pains in my legs, which is not my favorite, and maneuvering this belly can be a bit tricky, especially when rolling over in bed or bending over, but other than that it's been good!
Symptoms: My back pain has resolved itself, which has been heaven. Other than that sciatica, carpel tunnel, mild swelling in my hands and feet, braxton hicks, itchiness, insomnia, and nocturia. I had heartburn just once and I'm glad I don't have to deal with that regularly!
Baby necessities: I wish someone would tell me! We've got a stroller and diaper bag, and we're borrowing a carseat until we go back to Australia. Other than that we've got a few gender neutral sleepers, some blankets, and hats for the hospital. Now I just need to do a quick shop for some diapers and baby shampoo and all that jazz and I should be set...right? haha.
Working on: making sure I've got everything I need, and preparing myself for labor. But let's be honest, nobody's ever prepared for that. We went to prenatal classes last weekend, which Brandon
Nursery: is neglected. This baby will get a nursery one day. Probably when its not a baby anymore...
Currently craving: I had a pina colada smoothie from Orange Julius on the weekend and that's all I've been able to think about since!
Wishing: I knew when this baby is coming! I had a doctors appointment this morning and there's no action happening yet, so its all just a waiting game.
yay an update!! I love reading yours so I know what to look forward to in the coming weeks :) EEK! So soon!! Pack those bags quick - it could be any day!
